Why minimum order values?

From Thursday 2 January 2025, Harrison & Clough is introducing a small fee on total consignments of orders placed per day, under the value of £50.00.  Total consignments of £50.00 and over will be free from charge, but totals placed below the £50 Minimum Order Value (MOV) will be subject to a delivery charge of £7.50 per consignment. 
 
While an MOV is already standard procedure for many distributers in the industry, we have avoided implementing MOVs in 2024, but due to changing market conditions it is now necessary to make this adjustment.
 
In order to allow our customers to reach the MOV with the greatest ease possible, customers can bundle together smaller orders into a daily consignment of £50 or more.
 
In light of recent government announcements which will introduce significant increases in costs for all companies, and with carriage fees and surcharges rising sharply, we have reviewed all aspects of the business to see where we can introduce efficiencies without compromising the quality or reliability of service we provide to our customers, and have identified MOVs as an area where we can deliver this.
 
While our analysis suggests that most customer orders already exceed this £50 benchmark, meaning that the majority won’t be affected by the introduction of the MOV, by introducing delivery charges to lesser value orders we will be able to implement lower pricing levels of key ranges, as well as maintain existing levels of customer support and product availability.
