Anxiety, illness, money worries, and grievance are just some of the pressures today on an employee’s mental health, without the added worry of coping alongside their daily work tasks. At H&C we wanted a safe space where colleagues feel they can go and get away from it all any time throughout the day without having to explain.
The Take 5 room was created in October 2022 and presents all staff with a safe space to gather their thoughts, take doctor’s appointment calls, talk to mental health trained colleagues, or simply just put their feet up for 5 minutes. With discretion paramount to the success of this room, there is total confidentiality of attendance, and a no questions asked policy … unless you want advice or a conversation.
This is very much a project that true success will never be known, nor can it be measured, but knowing there is a well-received space for our employees to go to and the making of support available to all, we hope we can make a difference and make going to work one less worry for all staff.
